Your deposit addresses on most networks — Ethereum, Base, Polygon and others — stay the same. The exception is TON: that address changes, and the app will help you move your funds from the old one.
The upgrade is required: the old engine will be retired. You can start it when it suits you, and we'll announce the cut-off date in advance.
What you get
Pay network fees in the token you're sending. Until now, sending USDT meant you also needed the network's own coin to cover the fee — ETH, TRX, SOL. On the new engine the fee can often be paid in the token you're sending, such as USDT or USDC.
This works on EVM networks — Ethereum, Base, Polygon and others. Support for TRON and Solana is coming soon. For rarer tokens and memecoins the network's own coin may still be required — the app will tell you before you send.
Faster, more reliable transactions. The new engine signs and sends your transactions directly, with fewer steps in between. In practice this means transfers go through more quickly and get stuck far less often.
Your keys are protected by MPC — and never exist as a whole. The new engine is built on MPC (multi-party computation), as before. Your private key is never stored in one piece anywhere: it is split into shares, one held on your phone and another on secure servers. When you sign a transaction, the shares take part in a joint computation but are never brought together — neither on your device nor on the server.
What this means for you in practice:
Data extracted from your phone's memory is not enough to move your funds: a single share is useless without server-side authentication.
A breach on the server side does not give access either, for the same reason — our share is useless without yours.
You don't need to write down and hide a 12- or 24-word seed phrase — the thing most often stolen through phishing or found in notes and screenshots. Instead you have a wallet recovery code (see below).
As before, keep your phone and your access to the app safe: an unlocked device in someone else's hands can still be used to make transactions.
You can export your full keys at any time. In your security settings, after a Face Check, you can export the private keys of your wallets and hold them yourself. Note that this exports an individual private key per network, not a 12-word seed phrase.
The key infrastructure for the new engine is provided by Dynamic, an MPC wallet provider for fintech companies.
What stays the same
Your balances and your transaction history
Your deposit addresses on every network except TON
Your card and your IBAN
Your login, your passcode and your account settings
Your wallet recovery code
This is the one thing worth a minute of your time.
On the new engine, restoring your wallet is tied to your recovery code (shown as your passphrase on some screens — it's the same thing). It's what brings your wallet back if you lose your phone or reinstall the app.
If you lose this code, your wallet cannot be restored. That isn't a policy we can make an exception to: without your share the key cannot be reconstructed — not by us, not by anyone.
If you already have a code, open your security settings and confirm all three:
Your recovery code is backed up to your cloud storage
You've received the email containing your recovery code
You've verified the code
If you don't have one yet, you'll create it during the upgrade — the app will guide you. Right after the upgrade, go back to your security settings and run the same three checks.
We also recommend keeping a copy in a second place — a password manager or other secure storage, separate from your phone and your email. Not because of theft, but in case you lose access to your cloud and your email at the same time.
How the recovery code differs from a seed phrase. A seed phrase is the whole key: whoever sees it has your money. The recovery code works differently. On its own it does not give access to your funds — to restore your wallet you also need to sign in to your Simple account and pass the checks you already know: email confirmation, passcode, biometrics.
How to upgrade
Open the app. When the upgrade is available to you, you'll see You can move your wallet to a new engine.
Tap Start migration. If you'd rather do it later, tap Later — the prompt will come back.
Confirm your passcode.
If you don't have a recovery code yet, create one by following the prompts.
Wait while your accounts are transferred. This usually takes a couple of minutes — please keep the app open until it finishes.
When you see the confirmation, you're done.
Your TON deposit address will change
On most networks your addresses stay the same. Only your TON address changes.
The app will show you the new address and help you move your TON from the old one. You can do this straight away or later. The transfer happens on-chain, so the usual network fee applies.
Two things to keep in mind:
Update your saved TON address. If you've saved the old one somewhere — an exchange withdrawal whitelist, a note, another wallet — replace it with the new one.
If you postpone moving your TON, the old address still exists and funds sent there are not lost. Come back to it in the app when it suits you, or contact support and we'll walk you through it.
Always copy the receiving address from the app at the moment you need it, rather than reusing one you saved earlier.
Frequently asked questions
Do I have to do this?
Yes. The upgrade is required — the old engine will be retired. You can tap "Later" and pick a moment that suits you; we'll announce the cut-off date in advance.
Can anything happen to my funds during the upgrade?
No. Your balances stay in your accounts and your addresses on most networks don't change. The one exception is TON: that address changes and the funds need to be moved across. The app will help you do it
Will my deposit addresses change?
On Ethereum, Base, Polygon and other networks — no, they stay the same. Only your TON address changes.
What if the upgrade doesn't finish?
Reopen the app and start again. If it still doesn't complete, contact support from inside the app and we'll look at your account directly.
I use my card. Does it keep working?
Yes. Your card and IBAN carry over and continue to work as before.
Why do I need a recovery code if I never needed one before?
Because on the new engine recovery depends on you rather than on us. That's the other side of self-custody — and it's why the code becomes the one thing you need to keep safe.
I've lost my recovery code. What now?
If you still have access to your wallet in the app, go to your security settings and set up your backup again right away. If you've lost access and no longer have the code, the wallet cannot be restored — without your share the key cannot be reconstructed.
Can I take my keys with me?
Yes. In your security settings, after a Face Check, you can export the private keys of your wallets and hold them yourself. These are individual per-network keys, not a 12-word seed phrase.
